Shallow and deep seated landslides in natural slopes are often induced by rainfall. The cause of the failure is usually considered to be due decrease effective confining stress a suction loss water infiltration. However, rainwater infiltrates into slope surface resulting reduction shear strength soil deformation may occur even without significant change stress. It thus essential examine characteristics wetting. This study investigates on wetting-induced deformations under isotropic compression condition triaxial shearing using test apparatus for unsaturated soils. Two samples collected from active landslide sites Pakistan were used both behavior during infiltration at different levels deviatoric keeping constant stage. results showed that, though kept permeation levels, distortional was exhibited wetting amount samples. effect regarding degree saturation void ratio also observed.
